Coco Martin chose not to be involved in gambling
Kapamilya primetime action king Coco Martin revealed that he turned down an offer to endorse a gambling company.
Coco’s success in showbiz is one of the most desired career paths for many younger artists. He became a household name with his primetime action series. His fans come from all ages, and because of their support, his career continues to prosper.
His most recent project is his onscreen reunion series with his longtime partner, actress Julia Montes, the action-drama series Sigabo.
With his popularity and influence across generations, Coco Martin is also one of the top endorsers nowadays. However, during a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN, the actor stressed that he gives importance to his morals and the things he believes.
Coco revealed that he received an offer to endorse a gambling company. “One time, may kumukuha sa akin para magendorse, pero hindi siya akma sa aking pananaw o prinsipyo sa buhay. Sabi ko nga, kapag nabibigyan ako ng pagkakataon, lagi ko sinasabi ay hard work kasi doon ako nagsimula,” he shared.
The actor stressed that he has always been attached to his values, that perseverance and hard work were behind his success, and that promoting something that he does not believe in does not go with his morals.
“May kumuha sa akin na gusto ako magendorse ng gambling. Sabi ko, hindi ako magsasalita tungkol doon pero kasi hindi ko kasi pananaw sa buhay iyon kasi sabi ko na nagsimula ako sa pinakamababa hanggang umabot ako rito,” he said.
Coco also stressed that he does not base his life on “swerte” because he believes in the value of hard work and the source of income.
After declining the first time, the company returned with a bigger offer. However, once again, he declined. Coco admitted that in his entire life, he never imagined that he could ever receive that offer with that big amount.
“Diniscuss namin iyon ni Julia and manager and sabi namin, aanhin namin ang ganitong klaseng halaga kung ano naman ang masisirang buhay ng mga tao,” the actor shared.
Coco Martin clarified that he does not condemn those who are involved in gambling, but he highlighted that his decision is based on his conviction and personal experience.
Back in April, Coco’s production company released a statement debunking a claim that he was endorsing a gambling site.
