Boy2 Quizon Says This Is the Claudine Barretto Comeback Fans Have Been Waiting For
CLAUDINE BARRETTO – After years away from the big screen, Claudine Barretto is back, and Boy2 Quizon believes her latest film marks an important new chapter in her career.
Actor and director Boy2 Quizon is excited about the theatrical release of Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion, a film that reunites many of the original cast members of the iconic ABS-CBN sitcom that aired in the 1990s.
The reunion movie features several familiar faces from the beloved television series, including the late Dolphy, Nova Villa, Bernardo Bernardo, Cita Astals, Dang Cruz, Vandolph, Gio Alvarez, Smokey Manaloto, Maybelyn dela Cruz, and Boy2 himself. The project also serves as a tribute to Dolphy, the legendary King of Comedy and Boy2’s grandfather in real life.
During the “Petals & Poetry” fashion show held at The Blue Leaf Events Pavilion on May 23, 2026, Boy2 spoke with members of the media about what audiences can expect from the upcoming film.
Reflecting on the project, he shared, “Well, of course, definitely, it’s a tribute.
‘Alam mo yung feeling na makaka-relate ka kasi alam mong meron kang mahal sa buhay na nakasama mo noong time na yun.
‘And it’s play for truth. Definitely hindi namin ginawa to para i-surpass din yung dati.
‘Definitely, walang tatalo dun sa dati.’”
Boy2 explained that the film aims to show what has happened to the characters and cast members over the years while bringing nostalgic memories to viewers who grew up watching the sitcom.
“Pero, we want it to be, gusto lang namin maging play for truth.
‘It’s something na gusto rin namin ipakita kung anong nangyari doon sa mga anak ni Tatay Kevin.
‘And feeling namin yung pagiging totoo na yun ay sana magawa namin ng maganda yung reunion para sa lahat.’”
Tatay Kevin was the iconic character portrayed by Dolphy in the original series.
The film also marks the return of actress Claudine Barretto to the big screen. When asked about working with her, Boy2 had nothing but praise.
“Sobrang okay. Maraming naka-miss kay Ate Claudine.
‘And very… ayoko i-preempt pero definitely eto na yata yung parang masasabi ko na part na parang hinihintay ng tao po from her.
‘Definitely makikita niyo yung very good spirit.
‘Makikita mo sa energy ng bawat isa. Isa to sa mga feeling kong, ‘Ah, eto yun. Eto yung project na hinihintay ni Ate,’ parang ganun.’”
Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion is set to premiere in cinemas on June 17, 2026.
