Luis Manzano talked about being a family man
Kapamilya host Luis Manzano is determined to be a good provider for his family and ensure his loved ones enjoy a specific quality of life.
Luis and his wife, actress Jessy Mendiola had their intimate civil ceremony in Batangas City on February 21, 2021. They held a second wedding in Coron, Palawan on February 15, 2024.
The couple welcomed their daughter Isabella Rose, fondly called as Rosie or Peanut. Luis, as well as Jessy, would share glimpses of their family bonding moments on their social media pages.
In a recent interview on PBB host Bianca Gonzalez’s YouTube channel, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Luis Manzano admitted that his “anxiety or fear” are rooted from his desire to provide “a certain life” for his family.
“I’m not saying a 20-story home or ganyan. I just have this image of a life I want to give my family,” he explained. Luis shared that he has seen different definition of riches on social media.
He also admitted that sometimes, he would feel “panghihinayang” when he is not able to get a certain project not because he is financially challenged, but because of a deeper meaning, which is to have a rest day.
He shared that he has seen social media posts showing the new perspective that many people has when it comes to “riches.” Luis stressed that it is no longer coming from material things.
“When you say riches, it’s not always a Rolex, a Lamborghini, or ganyan. Kumbaga, rich na if there’s one day na hindi ko kailangan mag trabaho to spend with my family, it’s okay, na I’m healthy, [and] if I need go to Peanut’s play or recital, I’ll be able to without worrying kung makakaganyan pa,” the Kapamilya host said.
Luis spoke honestly about how fatherhood changed him, but he insisted those changes shouldn’t frighten anyone considering parenthood.
The Kapamilya host also said that uncertainty is a bit tangible. In the past, he would have his “gimik” days to let this pass, but it is not the case now. “It’s something that you sleep with ––– and sometimes when you wake up it’s still there,” Luis Manzano said.
A few days ago, Luis celebrated his birthday, and Jessy wrote a heartfelt birthday message for him. The Kapamilya host is now 45 years old.
