Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Maintains Trust Rating’s Upward Trend but Performance Rating Dropped

SARA DUTERTE – The performance rating of the Vice President dropped based on the latest survey conducted by OCTA Research.

Usually every quarter, there are opinion-polling bodies that conduct survey to determine the trust and performance rating of the highest officials in the Philippine government. Recently, it also conducted survey on Vice Pres. Duterte.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is faced with several issues right now including the impeachment complaints filed against her. Two (2) impeachment raps were found sufficient in form, substance, and grounds by the House Justice panel. Here are some of the grounds cited against Duterte:

  • Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes in amassing and converting the amount over PHP 500 million confidential funds (CF) allocated to the Office of the Vice President from 2022 to 2023
  • Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes in amassing and converting the amount of not less than PHP 112.5 million of confidential funds allocated to the Department of Education (DepEd) for the year 2023
  • Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust by corrupting and bribing officials of the DepEd
  • Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes in contracting to murder or assassinate the president, the first lady, and the former speaker of the House
  • Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust in amassing unexplained wealth and failing to disclose all her properties and interests in properties in her SALN
  • Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust in committing acts of political destabilization and the high crimes of sedition and insurrection

The Duterte camp questions the constitutionality of the impeachment hearings held by the House Committee on Justice. As for the House Justice panel, they recently defended the conduct of the impeachment proceedings of the complaints against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

“We are not overstepping. We are not improvising. We are simply following the Constitution,” House Committee on Justice Chairperson Rep. Gerville Luistro said.

Recently, amid the issues surrounding the Vice President, the result of the latest OCTA Research survey showed a decline in the performance rating of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on a report on GMA News, the latest survey found a 4-percentage point drop from 54% in the fourth quarter of 2025 to 50%.

Meanwhile, according to OCTA, the result of the performance rating of Duterte is still as majority levels. Her highest performance rating was recorded in Mindanao at 83% while her lowest was in Balance Luzon at 35%. She recorded a 37% performance rating in the National Capital Region (NCR).

While the performance rating of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte declined, based on the report, she’s able to maintain majority trust among the adult Filipinos. Her trust rating improved from 53% to 55%.

The Vice President previously announced that she will take the presidential race in 2028. Recently, former Senator Antonio Trillanes slammed the alleged “nonchalant” posture of Naga Mayor Leni Robredo amid a possible Duterte presidency in 2028.
