Young Man Injured After Stabbing Incident During Card Game in Sipalay 

A young man was seriously injured after a violent incident during a card game in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental. 

On Sunday evening, April 12, 2026, the victim was identified as 20-year-old Jemark Villaester, a resident of Purok Balunggay in Barangay Gil Montilla. The suspect was identified as Eduardo Villeta, who also lives in the same area. 

According to police reports, the two men were playing cards along with some friends when a disagreement suddenly broke out between them. The small misunderstanding soon escalated into a heated argument.

The tension grew when the victim reportedly became upset over an unpaid debt. 

In the middle of the argument, Villaester allegedly punched Villeta. This action made the situation worse and led to a violent response. The suspect then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach. 

The attack left Villaester badly injured. People nearby quickly responded and rushed him to the Sipalay City Infirmary for immediate treatment. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City for further medical care. 

The incident has caused concern among residents in the area, the supposed simple gathering among friends turned into a life-threatening situation. Many are now reminded of how unresolved issues can lead to violence. 

As of this writing, the suspect is still at large. Police authorities are actively searching for Villeta and are continuing their investigation to gather more details about the incident. They are also urging anyone with information to come forward to help in locating the suspect. 

Meanwhile, the victim continues to recover in the hospital as his family hopes for his healing and justice.
