Recently, a five-year-old kindergarten pupil proudly walked hand in hand with her father during her moving-up ceremony. The post quickly circulated online and elicited reactions from the online community.
The child, Medios Sam-Oy from Barangay Carmundo, attended her ceremony at Carmundo Elementary School.

In a video shared online, Medios can be seen smiling as she walked beside her father, Tatay Talon. The father’s appearance caught the attention of many netizens. He wore simple clothes and had no footwear, yet he walked with pride as he accompanied his child.
According to his teacher, Medios is known to be cheerful, kind, and friendly in class. There are times when she is unable to attend school due to the distance of their home and financial challenges.
“Minsan lang po ay hindi nakakapasok kasi po medyo malayo ang bahay sa paaralan at kasama na rin ang kakulangan sa financial. Pero sa kabila po ng lahat ng ‘yan ay napaka-supportive po ng kaniyang tatay,” Ma’am Misie said.

Despite these struggles, her father continues to show strong support for her education. The family belongs to the Bangon indigenous group.
On the day of the ceremony, Medios’ mother was unable to attend, so her father stepped in to be by her side as she received her diploma. His presence made the moment even more meaningful for the young child.
During the event, Medios received the Happy Helper award, recognizing her positive attitude and willingness to help others. The child will continue her studies and dreams of becoming a teacher someday.

People were moved by the father’s dedication and the love he showed, proving that support does not depend on wealth or appearance.
