Richard Gutierrez Admits It’s A Big Challenge To Replace ‘Batang Quiapo’ Timeslot

Richard Gutierrez stars in a series occupying the Kapamilya first primetime slot

Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez admitted that it was a big challenge for him and the whole team of Blood vs Duty to replace the time slot previously occupied by Batang Quiapo of Kapamilya primetime king Coco Martin.

For many years, Coco had occupied the first primetime slot of ABS-CBN. After its conclusion, The Alibi, featuring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, occupied the top spot for a week, which brought happiness to the actress.

It was recently announced that Richard’s new series with his real-life girlfriend, Barbie Imperial, will occupy the first timeslot as what was initially planned.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Richard Gutierrez admitted that this is a big pressure for him and the people behind Blood vs Duty.

“Since I moved to ABS-CBN, wala pang nakakapasok do’n sa timeslot as male lead, di ba? So, ngayon pa lang na may male lead na papasok aside of course kay Coco (Martin),” he shared.

With this, he knew that this one is challenging. “So, it’s a big challenge for us, and we are accepting the challenge and we are excited for this opportunity at may pressure,” the actor admitted.

When asked if Blood vs Duty‘s timeslot will change if Coco’s new series Sigabo with Julia Montes will be ready, Richard said he is aware of this. He shared that this was explained to them, but there’s nothing final yet.
