In a series of posts, Donny Pangilinan defended Belle Mariano and Shuvee Etrata.
ABS-CBN actor Donny Pangilinan shared these posts, calling out the toxic fans who got comfortable in throwing hate online.
In a previous article, Kapuso star Shuvee Etrata admitted she was affected by criticisms due to her past remarks. The immense bashing has made her think of quitting show business, but there were people who stood by her and provided her strength, particularly Miss Joy Marcelo and Miss Annette Gozon-Valdes.
Recently, Shuvee was criticized by DonBelle fans after she appeared too giddy during a chance encounter with Donny.
Fans of the duo, known as Bubblies, didn’t take it lightly. Criticism quickly poured in—some called it “pa-cute,” others said she seemed too eager, and a few even went as far as accusing her of trying to grab Donny’s attention.
She apologized, and shortly, Donny called out these kinds of fans in a series of posts.
According to him, he is currently out of the country for a short break, but he could not let unnecessary comments just hang around unaddressed. He stressed people should stop focusing on negativity and instead pay attention to bigger, more important issues affecting our country.
Addressing all fandoms, he expressed that they have become too comfortable spreading hate and attacking people without thinking about the real harm it causes.
He defended Belle Mariano, saying she is beautiful, talented, and has a great heart. For him, no narratives could ever change this. He also spoke about the issue with Shuvee and said that people must remember that behind the camera, they are all friends in the entertainment industry.
It’s nonsense for him to pit people against each other.
He reminded everyone that artists are human too and don’t deserve that treatment. He emphasized that there should be a boundary and added that he doesn’t support or tolerate hate or clout-chasing behavior.
