The Kapamilya actress and the mayor have been the subject of persistent dating rumors since mid-2025. While neither has officially confirmed a romantic relationship, several sightings and social media interactions have fueled public speculation.
Earlier this month, netizens shared photos and videos of Kathryn and Mark at a mall on a weekday. This garnered negative reactions from netizens since Mark is a public official, and he was supposed to be working at the city hall.
The rumored couple has been spotted together on multiple occasions, including at a shopping mall in Makati, dining at a restaurant in Rockwell, and reportedly at a resort in Batangas.
Then, netizens noted that Kathryn began following Mark Alcala and his sister, Dawn, on Instagram in February 2026. Mark has also been seen interacting with the inner circle of Kathryn’s best friend, Arisse Sy.
A recent post on Reddit by netizen @Proud-Escape-126 under ChikaPH, Mayor Mark Alcala once again received another round of bashing.
This featured a Facebook post from the Public Information Office of the City of Lucena. It was about a program that was held during the Monday flag ceremony at the city hall. Mayor Mark was obviously not there, and Vice Mayor Roderick Alcala led the event.
Then, the post featured a post from a fan highlighting Kathryn Bernardo’s birthday week. “Enjoy, lovebirds and friends! Wishing you a safe flight. Truly well-deserved to celebrate our Kathreng,” the fan wrote.
