U.S. Pres. Donald Trump Gives Iran 48 Hours To Open Strait of Hormuz or they will Attack Iranian Energy Facilities
Iran warned to fully close the Strait of Hormuz following the 48-hour ultimatum given by United States President Donald Trump.
The conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran has resulted in numerous deaths including the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. U.S. President Donald Trump defended that his decision of attacking Iran as allegedly a move to prevent the country from developing nuclear weapons.

According to Trump, Iran could allegedly pose a threat to global security and, as a national leader, it is more important to him to be able to stop the country from supposedly destroying the world than from America making lots of money — which it does with its huge oil resources as admitted by the U.S. President.
As the war continues in the Middle East, Pres. Donald Trump had warned Iran that any attempt to disrupt the global oil supply would trigger a far more severe attack. He also claimed that the Iranian government was allegedly unwilling to end hostilities.

Despite the warning of the U.S. President, Iran warned the world to brace for oil prices potentially soaring to $200 per barrel. An Iranian official said that talks with the U.S. were underway when American forces launched attacks. Thus, they don’t see any reason to communicate with U.S.
Amid the ongoing war in the Middle East, Iran imposed restrictions on the passage of the vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical waterway which accounts for nearly 20% of the world’s oil shipments. It is currently open for passage except for the American and Israeli ships.

As the war continues and the passage in the waterway is limited, Pres. Donald Trump recently issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding that Iran must fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz. According to the U.S. President, failure to comply would result in U.S. military strikes targeting Iranian power plants.

U.S. Pres. Donald Trump delivered this warning on March 22, 2026. Recently, Iran responded to the warning of the American President. Based on a report of News5, in its response, the Iranian authorities warned to fully close the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), they will also destroy the companies which have U.S. shares if the America will target their energy facilities. Based on the post, the IRGC asserted that they were not the ones who started the war.
“We did not start the war and we will not start it now, but if the enemy harms our power plants, we will do everything to defend the country and the interests of our people,” the IRGC stated.
