An alleged impersonation incident in the LET Exam 2026 was reported, and the suspect was arrested.
LET EXAM 2026 – A proxy examinee was arrested in Pagadian City for taking the teachers’ board exam for another person.
According to the officials from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), a man was arrested for allegedly attempting to take the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) on behalf of another examinee.
The male impersonator was apprehended during the teachers’ board examination after the authorities discovered that he was acting as a “proxy examinee,” or someone taking the exam for another person.
A PRC personnel member was the one who noticed the irregularities during the verification of examinees’ identities at the testing center. After this observation, the PRC immediately coordinated with the NBI.
Authorities stressed that strict identity verification measures are implemented during licensure examinations to prevent incidents like this. The PRC also reiterated that cheating or impersonating another examinee during board exams is a serious offense that can result in criminal charges as well as administrative sanctions.
The man is reportedly from Marawi City, and the impersonation he allegedly committed is an illegal act. He may face falsification of official documents and other possible violations of the law.
Initial findings also indicated that the person may be underage. His family later presented a birth certificate to support the claim. He was turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office while the NBI verified the authenticity of the document.
NBI-PAGDO chief Atty. Paul Dosdos said that there was a “facial disparity” between the photograph on the NOA and the identification card presented by the suspect, based on the report from investigators.
He also said authorities are examining possible violations of Article 178 of the Revised Penal Code, which penalizes the use of false names and the covering of one’s real identity. Meanwhile, the actual examinee who allegedly arranged for the proxy may also face additional charges.
