Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Says She’s “Allergic” of Politicians Now
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President confirmed that four (4) politicians reached out to be part of her senatorial slate in 2028.
The Malacañang Palace previously said “good luck” on the presidential aspiration of Vice Pres. Duterte who announced that she will run for the presidency in 2028. The announcement of the Vice President came amid her rift with Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she has already recruited someone to be her running mate in the 2028 Elections. However, she refused to drop a name on who she is referring to. Several names crossed the surface — senators Imee Marcos, Bam Aquino, and Robin Padilla, as well as Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.
Sen. Bam Aquino was quick to clarify that he will not run for vice president in 2028. The Senator is a known member of the opposition which recently met over lunch. According to him, it is embarrassing to do politicking as early as now.
Recently, during an ambush interview at the pop-up exhibit of the vice presidents of the Philippines held in Davao City, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that there are already politicians who have reached out to her to be part of her senatorial slate in 2028. According to News5, the Vice President revealed that there are four (4) of them.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte refused to name the politicians who allegedly reached out to her to be part of her senatorial slate in 2028. Based on the post, when asked if she is considering them, the Vice President did not give a direct answer.
“Allergic ako sa mga pulitiko ngayon eh, so, i-consider lang nila ako,” Duterte said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also did not answer if the politicians who reached out to her includes former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon who announced her senatorial bid in 2028. Furthermore, the Vice President remains mum on the person she recruited to be her running mate in the next elections.
“Meron akong ni-recruit last year. Ba’t hindi pa siya nag-decide kung tatakbo siya for vice president or hindi. So antayin na lang natin ‘yung desisyon niya. Huwag na lang natin siyang guluhin, huwag na natin siyang pangalanan,” the Vice President said.
The Vice President is currently faced with two (2) impeachment complaints. Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte spoke shortly on her response to the impeachment complaints as the deadline for it is today, March 16.
