Mercedes Cabral had the chance to work with Carmina Villarroel
Actress Mercedes Cabral talked about being part of the Kapuso afternoon drama series Hating Kapatid, and having the chance to work with seasoned actress Carmina Villarroel.
In the series, Mercedes portrayed the character of Melania, while Carmina gave life to the lead character named Roselle. Mercedes had a guest appearance on the Kapuso morning show Unang Hirit on Monday, March 16.
During the show, she shared the story of her intense scene with Carmina, in which they had a fight at a hill against the character of Darius, portrayed by Leandro Baldemor, and they were using bamboo sticks as swords.
Mercedes Cabral admitted that when she read the script, she thought that it was something unusual.
“Well nung nabasa ko ‘yung script tas nakita ko siya, ‘wow, this is something really different.’ Hindi ko pa nagagawa ‘yung gano’n, makipag-espadahan gamit ‘yung bamboo,” she said.
The actress said that she appreciated this because it was “very telenovela.” She also shared that she enjoyed working with Carmina.
“Kasi very professional and very, alam mo ‘yon, ready talaga, and of course, Ms. Glenda talaga. Magagaling ‘yung directors namin and lahat binibigay na sa amin. Kung ano ‘yung kailangan, we just have to act,” Mercedes shared about the seasoned actress.
She added that when they finished that intense scene, she and her co-stars hugged each other.
Before the scenes, they needed to prepare emotionally, and after the emotion was released, they hugged each other, with the fear that they might have hit one another.
“Before doing this scene, siyempre kailangan you have to prepare emotionally. But after, ‘yun na, magre-release ka na ng emotion, magyayakapan na kayo, ‘sorry natamaan ka ba? nasaktan ka ba?’ May mga gano’n,” Mercedes Cabral shared.
Hating Kapatid is having its finale week this Monday until Saturday, at 2:30 p.m., on GMA Afternoon Prime.
Meanwhile, before her stint in the Kapuso afternoon series, Mercedes was part of the recently concluded Kapamilya primetime series Batang Quiapo.
