Tricycle Driver Injured After Being Stabbed by Ex-Girlfriend’s Partner in Marikina
A tricycle driver was injured after being stabbed by his ex-girlfriend’s partner during an intense confrontation in Barangay Parang, Marikina City.
On Friday night, March 6, 2026, a 25-year-old man was stabbed during an intense confrontation. The incident reportedly stemmed from a conflict involving a woman who was previously in a relationship with the victim.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Marikina City Police Station, the victim and the 28-year-old suspect already had a previous misunderstanding related to the woman. The woman was the former live-in partner of the victim and is now currently in a relationship with the suspect.
“Ganun po ang nangyari, dahil po sa selos. Humihingi po ako ng tawad, hindi ko po ginusto na maganon siya,” the suspect said.
The two men later crossed paths outside a mall where the woman works. The tense encounter quickly turned into a physical fight. During the struggle, the victim did not immediately realize that he had already been stabbed by the suspect.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to run away from the scene to seek help. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital where he received medical treatment for the stab wound he sustained during the incident.
Authorities later arrested the suspect after the victim’s mother filed a complaint. Police officers were able to track him down and corner him, which led to his arrest.
Initial findings suggest that jealousy may have been the main reason behind the violent encounter. The situation involved a complicated relationship between the three individuals, as the woman had previously lived with the victim and is now involved with the suspect.
Investigators described the situation as a conflict between a past and present relationship, which eventually led to the heated confrontation between the two men.
The suspect is currently being held at the custodial facility of the Marikina City Police while facing a charge of frustrated murder.
