JV Ejercito Proves Biking to the Senate is Possible & Practical

JV EJERCITO – From home to the halls of power, JV Ejercito demonstrates that biking to the Senate is more than possible.

Sen. JV Ejercito is making headlines by promoting the use of bicycles as a practical mode of transportation in the Senate. This initiative comes in response to the recent spike in gasoline and other petroleum product prices, driven by the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

In a Facebook post, JV shared photos of himself biking to the Senate, highlighting the multiple benefits of cycling. “Sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng gasolina, isang magandang paraan ang pagbibisikleta para makatipid at makapag-exercise na rin,” the senator said.

According to JV, the government is actively studying and pushing for safer infrastructure, including the construction of dedicated bike lanes.

“Pinag-aaralan din natin ang mga pag-i-incentivize ng bike-to-work programs para mahikayat ang iba’t ibang sektor at mas maraming indibidwal na piliin ang pagbibisikleta bilang praktikal at environment-friendly na paraan ng pagbiyahe,” he added, emphasizing the dual benefits of cost-saving and environmental friendliness.

The timing of his advocacy aligns with a sharp rise in fuel prices that started on Tuesday, March 10, with further increases expected in the coming weeks due to the persistent tensions among the three countries.

Despite concerns over supply, President Bongbong Marcos Jr. assured the public that the Philippines has sufficient oil reserves, estimated to last between 50 and 60 days.

JV Ejercito’s personal example of cycling to work sends a strong message about adopting sustainable alternatives in everyday life. By choosing the bicycle, he demonstrates that environmentally friendly transportation can also be cost-effective and healthy.

With government-backed programs and incentives being considered, more Filipinos may be encouraged to embrace biking, not only as a practical solution to rising fuel prices but also as a way to promote an active, eco-conscious lifestyle.

As the country navigates global uncertainties and fluctuating oil costs, initiatives like these highlight how small, proactive changes in commuting habits can lead to significant social, economic, and environmental benefits.
