Viewers were shocked after witnessing a Tanghalan ng Kampeon contestant collapse while performing on stage.
In the recent episode of the noontime program TiktoClock, during its singing segment “Tanghalan ng Kampeon,” many were alarmed after witnessing a contestant collapse on stage on Tuesday, March 10.
The contestant is Eula Bautista. While she was amid the back-to-back singing rounds against fellow contender Princess Palti, something unexpected happened. While performing live, she suddenly lost consciousness, prompting the people in the studio, including the judges, to be alarmed, as seen in their initial reactions caught by the camera.
Production staff and the program’s medical team quickly rushed to the stage to attend to the contestant, and the show was immediately cut to a commercial break. The hosts, judges, and audience members who were watching the live broadcast were left in an extremely worried state.
When the program returned on air, host Kuya Kim Atienza addressed the situation and reassured viewers that Bautista was already being attended to by medical personnel. According to Atienza, the contestant fainted while performing and was immediately brought backstage for further medical attention and observation.
Judge Renz Verano also commented on the incident, stressing that the contestant’s condition is the show’s top priority. He said, “We’re hoping and praying na okay naman siya. First time po na nangyari to, Kuya Kim. Priority po natin ay yung kalusugan ni Eula. We’re hoping and praying na okay naman siya. First time po na nangyari ito kaya medyo na-shock [kami] sa nangyari.”
He added that the judges would need to discuss and evaluate what would happen next regarding the contestant’s status in the competition. Updates about her condition and the outcome of the judges’ deliberation will be announced soon.
