Singer Gigi De Lana has collapsed at a gig in Samal, Davao del Norte, and in a statement, her management assured that she is now stable.
OPM singer Gigi de Lana had collapsed while on stage during a gig in Samal, Davao del Norte, over the weekend. The moment was recorded in a video and immediately went viral.
Clips of de Lana collapsing after performing at an event at the Peñaplata Freedom Park in Samal, Davao del Norte, circulated online, sparking concern and alarm among her fans and supporters.
This is not the first time that this has happened to the singer. In May 2023, Gigi De Lana fainted onstage while performing at a show in Ilocos Norte and had to be assisted off by emergency personnel. The incident occurred shortly after she and members of her band, The Gigi Vibes, figured in a car accident while on their way to the event, where they sustained minor injuries.
In an update based on a post from her management, the singer lost her consciousness for a brief moment shortly after she finished performing. The incident reportedly occurred as she was heading down the stairs after finishing her final song, following what had been an emotionally intense and physically demanding performance.
It was caused by extreme exhaustion, and after receiving immediate medical care, she is now resting and in stable condition.
“Despite not feeling well, Gigi still chose to honor her commitment and perform for everyone who came to see her. This reflects the deep respect and professionalism she has for her audience,” her management emphasized.
At the moment, her team is focused on letting the singer rest and fully regain her strength.
“We sincerely appreciate all the prayers, messages, and support you’ve been sending. For now, our priority is making sure she gets the rest and recovery she needs. Thank you for your continued love and understanding,” Tritone added.
