Vice Ganda mentioned Bong Suntay on It’s Showtime
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda shared his reaction to the recent issue involving Quezon City Congressman Bong Suntay.
The politician became a trending topic on social media and received a massive amount of criticism because of his remark on actress and It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis.
Netizens labeled it malicious, inappropriate, and disrespectful. Anne received support from her sister, actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith, as well as her friends from the entertainment industry. Her management also released a statement condemning the congressman’s statement.
Rep. Bong Suntay’s wife has released a statement apologizing to Anne Curtis. Previously, the politician apologized but stressed that his statement had no malice.
As of this writing, the actress-host has not yet directly addressed this issue, but she liked a post from Preview Magazine criticizing the politician’s statement.
During the episode of the Kapamilya noontime show, It’s Showtime on March 6, Vice Ganda mentioned Cong. Bong Suntay. It was during the Laro Laro Pick segment.
The Unkabogable Star was talking to the contestant as he said, “Pinapainit mo ang ulo ko. Napunta sa’yo ang bwesit ko kay Bong Suntay.” Hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario were laughing at this while Vice’s face was serious.
When the camera zoomed in, Vice expressed a fierce facial expression. He added that a while ago, his temper was directed at Bong Suntay, and it has already transferred to the contestant. “Huwag mo nang ipakita, baka ma-imagine ka pa niya,” the comedian-host added.
A video clip of this was shared on Reddit, and a netizen who commented shared the context of Vice Ganda’s statement mentioning Bong Suntay. “May sinabi kasi ang contestant (ang sus* ko bumababa) alam mo naman takot din si Vice baka ma MTRCB, sana sinali OP sinabi yung whole context,” the netizen commented.
