Veronica Kitty Duterte asserted that she has no plan to enter the political arena, just like her father and her siblings.
Kitty is known for being vocal when it comes to defending her family during controversies and issues. Being part of a prominent political clan in the Philippines, Kitty also has the attention of the public, especially now that her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is detained by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
Previously, Kitty admitted that she got scared seeing her father inside the ICC detention center. She said that the first visit was always the hardest.
Kitty also shared that usually, she would wait in the corridor and hearing the door open, she would run immediately to meet her father. Sharing the condition of the former president, she said that her father was okay, but it was noticeable that he had drier lips and skin.
The youngest daughter of Duterte admitted that she was concerned about her father’s health condition inside the detention center.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Kitty was asked if she also thought of entering the political arena in the 2028 elections.
She directly answered, “No.” Despite being a popular personality on social media with several endorsements, Kitty still sees herself as a private individual.
In the same interview, she was also asked about the effect on their family of the early announcement by Vice President Sara Duterte that she will run for president in 2028.
“I think we just, you know, gave more importance to solidarity and supporting each other and just really being there for each other,” Kitty Duterte said.
She also shared that their critics inscreased but growing up before the public, Kitty said that she is used to this.
