Manny Pacquiao Sends Powerful Message to Rising Tennis Star Alex Eala
ALEX EALA – Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao could not hide his pride as he praised Alex Eala for carrying the Philippine flag with honor on the global tennis stage.
Manny Pacquiao has expressed his admiration for rising tennis star Alex Eala, who continues to make waves on the WTA Tour with her impressive performances.
Known worldwide for his achievements inside the ring, Pacquiao said he feels a deep sense of pride whenever he watches Eala compete on the international stage. For him, seeing a young Filipino athlete excel against top global competition is both inspiring and emotional.

“Noong pinapanood ko siya maglaro, I’m so proud of her na talagang dala-dala ’yung flag ng Pilipinas,” the “Pacman” said. “Kapag tinitignan ko siya parang, proud na proud ako sa kaniya kasi siyempre Pilipino.”
Pacquiao emphasized that the Philippines needs more dedicated and passionate athletes like Eala, who represent the country with determination and grace. He also shared a simple but meaningful message for the 20-year-old standout as she continues her journey in professional tennis: “Keep it up, work hard.”
Eala recently reached the quarterfinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships, a breakthrough performance that propelled her to a career-high No. 31 in the WTA rankings. Her steady climb in the global standings signals her growing presence in the sport and hints at even bigger milestones ahead.
Earlier this year, she also attracted significant attention during her campaign at the Australian Open, drawing large crowds and sparking comparisons to Pacquiao because of the excitement she generated among Filipino fans.

However, Eala humbly brushed aside the comparisons. “Iba naman si Manny Pacquiao, I think. Nasa ibang level na siya,” said Eala, when asked if she was the ‘new Pacquiao.”
“Sa tingin ko, medyo malayo pa ako,” she said.
Despite her modesty, many believe Eala is carving out her own path and building a legacy in Philippine tennis. She is set to compete next in the main draw of Indian Wells and the Miami Open, where fans will once again look forward to seeing her carry the Philippine flag with pride on the world stage.
