Robin Padilla Shuts Down Speculation About Running for Vice President
ROBIN PADILLA – Senator Robin Padilla has firmly put an end to speculation that he is eyeing a bid for the vice presidency in the next national elections.
Actor-turned-lawmaker Robin Padilla clarified his stance in a recent Facebook post, directly addressing the rumours surrounding his political plans. “Wala akong balak na kumandidato na bise presidente.”
His statement came after political commentator Ronald Llamas, former political affairs adviser of the late President Benigno Aquino III, reacted strongly to earlier remarks made by Padilla.

Following Robin Padilla’s initial statement last Friday, Llamas criticized him and said: “‘Yung gusto mong maging Vice President hindi dahil nais mo maglingkod, pero uutusan ka ng preso sa ICC.”
Llamas did not stop there and added another sharp comment directed at the senator: “He only confirmed accusations na wala siyang sariling utak,” Llamas’ bold confrontation with Padilla.
Padilla, however, did not let the remarks pass unanswered. The senator explained that his respect for former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is rooted in party discipline within PDP-Laban, where Duterte serves as chairman.

Guanzon. Magsipilyo po kayo. Baho ng lumalabas sa bibig niyo!”
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that Sara Duterte has earlier declared that she intends to run for president in the 2028 national elections, becoming the first aspirant to publicly announce her intention for the upcoming race.
With his latest clarification, Padilla made it clear that, at least for now, he has no plans to seek the vice presidency, shutting down circulating rumours about his political ambitions.
