Real-life celebrity couple Coco Martin and Julia Montes are going to star in a new ABS-CBN primetime series called “Sigabo.”
As Batang Quiapo takes its final bow on March 13, a new series is set to premiere on March 16. Based on a previous article, actor-director Coco Martin confirmed that “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” will end on March 13, 2026.
The top-rated series is finally ending after more than three years of airing.
Coco said, “Nung ginalaw ko na ’yung kwento, ginalaw ko na ’yung mga characters, naramdaman kong parang hanggang dito na lang ’yung takbo ng buhay ni Tanggol sa Quiapo. Ito na siguro ’yung pinakasagad na dulo na pwede kong takbuhin ng character ni Tanggol.”
Along with this big announcement, the ABS-CBN actor also revealed another big one, which is his upcoming series with his real-life partner, actress Julia Montes. He confirmed that their primetime series is titled “Sigabo.”
He is clearly not taking a break, as this will start airing on March 16. As much as he wants to take a break and have some time to think things through, his love and concern for the people of the production and the viewers prevail.
“Pero paano ‘yung mga katrabaho ko? Ilan ‘yung mga taong umaasa sa production, sa ABS-CBN? Ilan ‘yung mga taong naghihintay sa ‘yo pag alas-otso ng gabi, nakasanaya ka na nila sa kanilang mga tahanan? Ayoko silang malungkot, ayoko silang biguin,” he expressed.
Known for his works in the genre of action and drama, will his upcoming series be the same?
According to him, this series is going to be lighter. There will be comedy, action, drama, and romance, and the viewers will see different versions of them in acting. He added that Montes also immediately agreed to do the project, which he feels is the right one for their comeback.
As of now, the actress is focused on training. He shared, “Nag-aaral siya ngayon ng sa baril, ng fight, sa motor. Lahat ng makakasama namin dito, nagte-training na.”
He added that this will be episodic, which means there will be different stories and missions. There will also be different guests every week.
