Boy Abunda Hints at Long-Awaited TV Reunion w/ Kris Aquino
BOY ABUNDA – After years apart on screen, Boy Abunda revealed he is looking forward to working again with Kris Aquino.
In a heartwarming update for Philippine television fans, seasoned host Boy Abunda has shared his aspirations for a professional reunion with his longtime screen partner, Kris Aquino. Boy Abunda visited Kris Aquino for her 55th birthday on Feb. 14, noting she has gained weight and is showing steady signs of recovery.
Speaking on his program on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the “King of Talk” expressed immense optimism about the possibility of collaborating once again with the “Queen of All Media.”
Boy Abunda recently spent time with Kris during her 55th birthday celebration on Valentine’s Day. He described the intimate gathering at her Makati residence as a joyous occasion, noting that Kris appeared to be in higher spirits and had gained some healthy weight.
“Last February 14 in the afternoon, binisita ko ang aking kaibigang si Kris Aquino who celebrated her birthday. We had a nice chat; kumain kami. She’s getting better. At sana, tuluy-tuloy,” Boy shared with his audience, highlighting his relief at seeing her recovery from multiple autoimmune conditions.
The “King of Talk” expressed a strong desire to reunite with Kris for a new project, potentially as a talk show or a digital podcast.
The bond between the two hosts has spanned over three decades, outlasting many of their individual projects.
Boy highlighted their 30-year professional history, stating that their unique chemistry remains a career milestone for both of them.
Boy noted that their shared history in the industry creates a unique dynamic that he is eager to bring back to the public, whether through traditional television or modern digital platforms.
While no official contracts have been signed, Boy is already looking forward to what their next joint venture might look like.
He mentioned that the format, be it a television talk show, a podcast, or an online series, is less important than the opportunity to work alongside Kris again.
“Kung bibilangin talaga, mas matanda pa ang aming television careers ni Kris kaysa kay Josh Aquino. We’ve been doing this for 30 years. And really I don’t know, there is this thing in me that’s looking forward to doing a talk show with her. I don’t know if it’s going to be in the form of a podcast, an online thing or a television thing but hindi ko [pa] alam,” he remarked.
Kris has dubbed 2026 her “rainbow year,” signaling her optimism for a media comeback alongside her trusted friend and former co-host.
