Bela Padilla Shares Unforgettable Incident Involving Carlo Aquino

Bela Padilla and Carlo Aquino have a new movie

Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla shared this “special memory” while filming her new movie with actor Carlo Aquino.

Bela and Carlo first worked together in the 2018 movie titled Meet Me in St. Gallen. Their on-screen tandem received positive feedback. After 8 years, they shared the same frame again.

Their new movie is a Philippine adaptation of Pure Soul, the 2001 Japanese drama series, which was inspired by the 2004 South Korean movie A Moment to Remember.

During the grand media conference for their reunion film, A Special Memory, on February 18, 2026, Bela Padilla shared a lighthearted but “unforgettable” incident involving her co-star, Carlo Aquino, based on the article in PEP.

While filming a particularly intense and emotional scene, Carlo’s blood pressure spiked because of the physical and emotional demands of the scene.

Bela recalled that the production team had to temporarily halt the shoot to ensure he was okay, as he was deeply immersed in his character, Dindo.

The actress narrated that in the scene, Carlo’s character would break a plate, and since their budget was tight, they only had one camera that day.

Bela was waiting for her cue when the camera would focus on her, but she waited longer than expected. When she looked at Carlo, he was already on the floor.

Parang muntik na siyang mag-pass out or nag-pass out. Na-highblood si Carlo sa eksena,” she shared. The actress added that during breaks, Carlo loved to eat liempo, and he really liked eating pork fat.

“Siguro dahil sobrang payat niya, akala niya, okay siya. Hindi kumakain ng gulay. Ang gusto niya, kape, maraming kape. So, na-high blood po siya sa set,” Bela revealed.

When that incident happened, they packed up the shoot. For Bela Padilla, that was the special memory that she had while filming. It was because she was really nervous at that time.

After that incident, the actress said they did not want to continue the shoot. She shared that their director, Jerry Lopez Sineneng, said that they will resume on some other day.

However, the actor still wanted to continue. “So, kinalimutan ko na yung eksena, tumigil na akong umiyak. Biglang si Carlo, nakita ko, sumesenyas, ‘No Direk, one more.’ Sobrang galing masyado. Sobrang propesyunal, ayaw niyang umuwi. Pero hindi, pinauwi na namin siya,” she shared.

Even though there were unexpected incidents that happened on the set—health scares, rain, near-death experiences—Bela said that this was one of the lightest projects she had to date. “It’s so easy to be on set, like Direk Jerry said, walang masyadong pressure. It was very easy,” the actress shared.
