KZ Tandingan Reveals the Honest Reason She Is Not Ready for Motherhood
KZ TANDINGAN – Singer-songwriter and The X Factor Philippines Season 1 grand winner KZ Tandingan candidly opened up about motherhood and why she believes she is not ready to take on the role just yet.
KZ Tandingan recently opened up about a deeply personal topic — motherhood. Despite being happily married to fellow musician TJ Monterde, KZ admitted that she is not yet ready to take on the responsibility of becoming a mother.
During their recent joint concert titled “In Between,” KZ shared her honest thoughts about starting a family. While she acknowledged that she does want to become a mother someday, she emphasized that it should happen for the right reasons and not because of outside expectations or pressure.
“I want to become a mother because I want to become a mother. Hindi ko gugustuhin maging nanay para may mag-aalaga sa akin ‘pag tumanda ako. Hindi ko gugustuhin maging nanay kasi na-pressure ako na maging nanay,” said KZ.
Her statement drew support from TJ, who agreed with his wife and expressed his full understanding of her sentiments. The couple’s openness about the topic resonated with many fans who appreciate their honesty and strong partnership.
In a media interview after the concert, KZ expressed gratitude for having a supportive and understanding husband. She spoke candidly about the weight of parenthood, especially for mothers.
She said, “Ang pressure ng pagiging parent, ang bigat-bigat sa nanay, e. Kumbaga, you’re not just carrying a child, you’re changing yourself.”
She further explained the profound transformation that comes with motherhood, saying, “Kahit napanganak mo na ‘yong bata, you are completely changed as a person — physically, spiritually, and mentally,” KZ added.
KZ and TJ have been together for a decade, building both their personal and professional lives side by side. The couple tied the knot in August 2020 at the height of the pandemic in San Benito, Batangas.
While fans may be eagerly waiting for baby news, KZ’s statements make it clear that she values intentional decisions and personal readiness above all. For now, the couple continues to focus on their music, their marriage, and supporting each other through every stage of life, in between dreams, responsibilities, and the future they are carefully planning together.
