Jiro Manio shared his recent life update
Former child actor Jiro Manio sold his first-ever Best Child Actor trophy to content creator Boss Toyo of Pinoy Pawnstars.
He is Jiro Katakura in real life, and he is now 33 years old. At the age of 7, he started his acting career, and he captured the admiration of movie fans.
He already received several recognitions as a child star. However, his career faced a challenging phase. Jiro had his personal struggles, especially because of his addiction. Fortunately, he was able to seek help and started his rehabilitation treatments.

It was in 2024 when Jiro Maniof first visited Boss Toyo’s YouTube show. The former child star sold his Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy. It was for his performance in the movie Magnifico, which was released in 2003.
Just recently, Jiro had his second appearance on Boss Toyo’s YT channel, just recently. The former child star said that he is okay, but still has no stable source of income.
Even though he would receive offers for some stints, Jiro said that he knew that, right now, penetrating the mainstream is not that easy.
“Kailangan ko pa talaga ng recovery. Kailangan kong bumawi pa sa sarili ko eh. Kasi grabe ‘yung pagod na inabot ko,” the former child star said.

Jiro Manio explained the importance of the second award he was selling to Boss Toyo. He said that this was his first-ever Bes Child actor thropy, which was from the movie Bagong Buwan of Cesar Montano and Carlo Aquino.
The recognition was from the Metro Manila Film Festival. He said that it was like a trademark movie for him in 2002.
“Tungkol sa Muslim at sa Kristiyano. Nag-gera ng 2002. Bata pa ako nito, eight years old. Kasi ‘yung sa Magnifico, nasa history yan na nanalo ako ng Best Actor, pinakabata. Pero ito ‘yung pinakatumatak sa mga tao kasi pinakaunang award ko kasi ito,” Jiro shared about the recognition. Initially, the actor demanded the price of P500,000, but eventually, he said yes to the offer worth P75,000.
