AJ Raval Opens Up About Secret Pregnancy Struggles
AJ RAVAL – Former Vivamax Queen AJ Raval left many stunned after revealing that she did not go for medical checkups while she was pregnant.
AJ Raval opened up about the difficult chapter of her life when she and Aljur Abrenica chose to keep their relationship and children away from the public eye.
AJ revealed that at the height of hiding their relationship, she reached a point where she had to self-medicate while pregnant with their children just to avoid being seen by people. The actress made the candid confession during her interview with Toni Gonzaga for the online talk show “Toni Talks,” where she detailed the trials she faced as a mother.
According to AJ Raval, after several years, she and Aljur finally decided to reveal their relationship and acknowledge their children to the public.
“Kasi gusto na po naming matapos, gusto naming maging malaya. Sa bahay lang namin may mga tao na nandoon, hindi ko kilala, gusto lang nilang maka-capture ng mga bata.
“Gusto namin silang ipasyal, gusto namin silang bigyan ng malaking birthday celebration,” said the daughter of action star Jeric Raval.
She admitted that the constant secrecy eventually took its toll on them.
“Nagsawa na rin po kakatago. ‘Yun pong huling baby ko paglabas niya, kapag may chance ilalabas ko na.”
AJ also shared that out of fear that their children might become the subject of gossip or harassment, she was unable to even go to the doctor during her pregnancy.
“Mahirap. isipin n’yo po hindi po ako nagpapa-check up. Ginagamot ko ang sarili ko nagse-search ako ng vitamins,” said AJ.
One of the most painful experiences for her was hearing her eldest child call her “Ate” whenever they were in public. At home, however, her child would call her “Mama.”
“Ngayon po kinausap ko na po siya sabi ko ‘okay na tawagin mo akong mommy. Okay na tayo,’” said AJ.
Despite all the struggles and sacrifices she endured, AJ emphasized that what she wants her children to learn from their experience is resilience and freedom.
“Yung ituturo ko po sa kanila ay ‘yung maging malaya sila at huwag magpapaapekto sa kahit kanino.”
