Coco Martin ‘Batang Quiapo’ Ratings Go Up

Coco Martin reigned the ratings game once again

The FPJ’s Batang Quiapo action series starring Kapamilya actor Coco Martin is back on top.

Coco is one of the constant stars seen on the primetime slot of the Kapamilya network. For many years, he has been reigning the ratings game, from his previous series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, until her current series.

The series faced a challenging moment when ABS-CBN’s contract with TV5 was dissolved. However, a new blessing came after that. ALLTV2, the media company owned by business tycoon Manny Villar, embraced Coco’s series and other Kapamilya shows.

Based on the article in Abante Entertainment, Batang Quiapo’s ratings went up. According to TV ratings from Nielsen Philippines, its January 27 episode recorded a 10 percent rating, with 4.5 percent coming from A2Z, 3.5 percent from ALLTV2, and 2 percent from cable channel Kapamilya Channel.

The rival of Coco Martin’s show, Kapuso fantasy series “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” garnered 7.5 percent in its 8:00 pm airing on GMA and 1.8 percent in its delayed airing on GTV.

Another rival, “Carlo J. Caparas’ Totoy Bato” garnered 1.2 percent, with 1 percent coming from TV5 and 0.2% from OnePH.

This is the first time that Coco’s series has reached double digits since it left TV5 and moved to ALTV2. In fact, in its first episode on ALLTV2 on January 2, it only got 6.7 percent, of which 1.1 percent came from ALLTV2 and 5.6 percent came from Kapamilya Channel and A2Z.

With this, it was analyzed that wherever Coco’s show is, his avid viewers would follow him. Based on the article, the Kapamilya action series was extended as ABS-CBN is strengthening its programs on ALLTV2.

Meanwhile, actress Julia Montes, the longtime girlfriend of Coco Martin, shared early last month that they will be doing a new movie this year. The actress said that she is excited about her reunion project with the man of her life.
