Yasmien Kurdi talked about going back to school

Kapuso actress Yasmien Kurdi shared in a recent interview that it is her aspiration to be a lawyer.

Yasmien rose to fame through the Kapuso talent search StarStruck. Even though she did not become the Ultimate Female Survivor, she was given a lot of opportunities in her acting career. She starred in several hit teleseyes on GMA.

However, she took a break when she got married and had children. In recent years, Yasmien went back to acting.

She was given lead roles in teleseryes when she returned to acting, but the actress opted to take another path. Based on the article in Abante Entertainment, Yasmien Kurdi returned to school.

Yasmien has already graduated from college, but as people in showbiz know, her dream was to become a doctor. However, it seems she has changed her mind, as she is currently studying law at Arellano School of Law. She is in her first year, second semester.

The actress was asked whether she would take a hiatus from showbiz or be able to combine law school, which is also very demanding, with acting.

“Nasa showbiz pa rin po ako. Okey pa rin po to work. Kaya naman po pagsabayin,” Yasmien shared.

Meanwhile, as a mother, Yasmien Kurdi faced a great challenge back in December 2024. She revealed that her eldest daughter, Ayesha Zara, had been a victim of bullying at her former school, Colegio San Agustin (CSA) Makati.

She said that the bullying had been ongoing since Grade 2 and escalated into incidents of being “ganged up on” by classmates. The school denied the allegations. The actress decided to file a formal complaint and met with then-DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara in late December 2024. Eventually, the celebrity mom opted to place her daughter under homeschooling in February 2025.
