Thief Robs Small Cafe in Marikina But Left Coins
A small café in Marikina City loses P14,000 to a thief who broke into the establishment but coins were left behind.
A small café in Barangay Concepcion Uno got robbed, leaving the owners distressed over the loss of their hard-earned money. The burglary happened past 1:30 in the morning while the area was quiet and the establishment was closed.
Based on CCTV footage, a man with his face covered using a T-shirt was seen entering the café through the main door. Once inside, he immediately went to the security cameras and adjusted their angle to avoid being clearly recorded.

The culprit then walked straight to the counter, appearing familiar with the layout of the café. The suspect searched for the key to the cash drawer and managed to open it after a short time. Before fully opening the drawer, he made sure another camera was turned away.
The entire incident lasted around five minutes, after which the man quickly left the premises.
The café owner only discovered the break-in later that morning. Upon entering the shop, he noticed that the cash drawer was already open, with only coins left inside. The CCTV cameras were also found tilted upward.
The suspect managed to take around P14,000 in cash along with a business mobile phone worth about P6,000.
Police investigation showed that the suspect likely forced his way through the main door, possibly damaging the padlock in the process. The owner expressed regret over the stolen money, saying it was part of their business funds meant for daily operations and future expenses.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect, while barangay officials have increased patrols in the area. The café owners are now taking extra steps to improve security, including adding more locks, installing an alarm system, and keeping the lights on even after closing.
