Broadway superstar Lea Salonga admitted that she and her husband, Robert Chien, have separated after many years of being married.
Three years after meeting each other, Chinese-American businessman Robert “Robbie” Chien and world-class performer Lea Salonga tied the knot at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels, Los Angeles, California. They chose The Millennium Biltmore Hotel for the reception.

Lea is now 54, and previously, she openly and proudly supported her child’s transition. She spoke about how unconditional it is to be a parent of gay children. Lea’s child underwent surgery for the transition. It was life-changing and something that the Broadway singer fully supported.
Speaking to parents, she expressed, “Every kid is a blind box. Let’s use those terms. It’s a blind box. You don’t know what you’re gonna get. You don’t know if it’s gonna be what you want. Because chances are it’s gonna be what you don’t want, and that’s what you’re gonna get. My kid is wonderful. Now he’s just working on being an actor.”
