A student from Canumay Elementary School in Antipolo, Rizal has become a source of inspiration after receiving a scholarship grant. The support came as a big boost for Marian San Jose, a young learner who has shown strong determination despite the many challenges her family faces every day.

Marian is the third of four children in a household that relies on limited and unstable income. Her father works as an on-call construction worker, while her mother earns a living by cutting grass.
Together, their monthly income is estimated at only around P4,000, which must cover food, daily needs, and school expenses for six family members.

There were times when Marian went to school without allowance. Still, she chose to focus on her studies and remained committed to her goal of finishing school. Her efforts paid off as she consistently earned high grades and became known as a hardworking and responsible student.
Even with school demands, Marian continues to help at home by watching over her younger sibling and assisting with household tasks. Her dedication both in school and at home led the School Parent-Teacher Association of Canumay Elementary School to recognize her as a Natatanging Mag-aaral Awardee.

Under the scholarship program, Marian will receive P60,000 for her Senior High School years and P160,000 for four years in college, or P40,000 per year depending on her chosen course and school.
The Antipolo City government expressed full support for Marian, praising her perseverance and strength.
