The world has just entered a new year, and for many, it is also a new beginning for goals and dreams to achieve. For actor Alden Richards, this new year is more than just a fresh chapter. He is also taking this as a time for personal reflection.
He welcomed 2026 with gratitude, and on January 2, he celebrated his 34th birthday.
Richards celebrated this day in London with family and a few close friends. He shared, “I just spent time with my family. Parang nag-ano lang kami, nag-dinner lang kami sa bahay. Yung cake ko, hindi nga siya cake, e. Parang charcuterie board siya na ako yung nag-assemble.”
Such happenings are the things he appreciates as they humble him and keep him grounded. And from the start, it has always been his objective – to celebrate quietly with his family, and it happened in the US during his vacation.
For this year, he shared that he is keeping his expectations low and allowing things to unfold naturally. He said he is open to whatever the year brings, having learned, through painful experiences in the past, that projecting and envisioning outcomes can sometimes lead to disappointment when they do not materialize.
What’s in store for him in 2026?
For the first half, his projects included Code Grey, marking his primetime teleserye comeback, the second season of Stars on the Floor, and an upcoming drama for a streaming platform.
He expressed that his 2026 is loaded for him when it comes to projects.
In Code Grey, he will be playing a role as a medical practitioner for the first time, particularly as a surgeon.
He said, “First time po kasi. Medyo naging engineer na tayo, naging arkitekto, naging superhero, naging lawyer. So wala pa that has anything to do with the medical field. So exciting! Di ko pa siya nagawa and I’m quite excited for what’s ahead.”
Alden has been in the industry for 15 years already.
