Carla Abellana and Reginald Santos were high school sweethearts
Kapuso actress Carla Abellana talked about her second chance with her husband, Dr. Reginald Santos.
It is known to many that this is not Carla’s first time getting married. Back in 2021, Carla tied the knot with actor Tom Rodrigue,z but just a few months after their wedding, the breakup happened.
It was a controversial separation and created a loud buzz in the entertainment industry. For several years, Carla remained single. However, last year, she started sharing hints at the status of her love life.
On December 27, 2025, Carla Abellana tied the knot with Dr. Reginald Santos. It was known that it was their second chance at love as they were high school sweethearts.
In a recent interview with The Philippine Star columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal, Carla shared her love story with her husband. She said that they are both at the right age and levels of maturity and security in life.
Both of them also went through a lot in life individually, including in relationships, heartbreaks, and career milestones. “This time around, our love felt much better, right, peaceful, calm, secure and reassuring,” she shared.
Carla also shared that both of them came from long-term relationships. Reginald was engaged to someone he had been with for around nine years.
Then, one Christmas, Reginald reached out to Carla on social media and greeted her, “Happy holidays” and she greeted her back, and this continued. Realizing that they still have each other’s cellphone numbers, they started texting.
When asked about what she loves most about Reginald, Carla said that her husband is a wonderful partner. “He is calm, loving, so caring, hilarious, responsible, mature, gentle, admirable, hardworking, passionate at what he does, and best of all, his words match his actions,” she highlighted.
Carla Abellana added that her husband really shows her how much he adores her. He also prioritizes her above all.
