Richard Gutierrez talked about the new chapter for ABS-CBN
Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez expressed excitement about the return of ABS-CBN to Channel 2.
For many years, the Kapamilya network has been occupying Channel 2, but the company was forced to leave it after its new franchise was not renewed in 2020. This was a tough time for the TV network, as well as for its talents and employees.
Many people lost their jobs, and ABS-CBN opted to go online and became a content provider to sustain the business. Eventually, partnerships and collaborations took place.
Just recently, it was announced that ABS-CBN shows will return to Channel 2, which is now owned by AMBS or ALLTV, the media company owned by business tycoon Manny Villar.
In line with this, Richard Gutierrez could not help but feel the excitement, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment.
“We’re back baby! That’s all I can say. It’s like full circle. Growing up, Channel 2 na ‘yan eh. So now we’re back sa Channel 2 and we’re very excited for this. It’s a great opportunity, a great time. It feels like it’s going to be a fresh start for the network. It’s definitely an inspiring time for the network,” the actor said.
He also said that it is a new chapter for ABS-CBN, and he is so excited to present the shows to their viewers.
Meanwhile, a few months after his hit primetime series Incognito, Richard is set to return. He will have a new series with Gerald Anderson, who said in a recent interview that it has been his dream to work with him.
Last year, Richard also did the movie Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Evil Origins, as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025. Richard said that he really wanted to work with Gerald, and it has been on his bucket list to have a project with him.
During the ABS-CBN Christmas Special, the two actors were able to talk about their planned collaboration. “So ‘yun, natupad din, and finally we’re here. We’re excited. It’s going to be a new chapter for us,” Richard shared.
Richard Gutierrez also shared his reaction to the compliments he got from Gerald Anderson.
“It’s always exciting working with a passionate actor on top of his game like Gerald. We would always be on different shows at the same time, so finally we’re finally collaborating and it’s great,” the actor said, adding that he acknowledged people’s comments that he and Gerald are like siblings.
As of this writing, no specific details have been released about Richard and Gerald’s upcoming series, but the former said that people should not compare this to Incognito.
