Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos were supposed to have this reunion project
A-list stars Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos reportedly were offered to be the main characters in the movie UnMarry.
The said movie was part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025, featuring the tandem of Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo. This also served their reunion project.
The movie is about the challenges of a married couple who is in the verge of separation. Many moviegoers expressed positive comments.
Based on the article in Bandera, Zanjoe Marudo was not the first choice for the male lead. It was said that it was first offered to Pioo Pascual. Then, talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz mentioned something about this in a recent episode of his YouTube showbiz talk show, Showbiz Update.
Ogie first talked about the income that the MMFF movies received. Then, he remembered a scoop that he heard. “Ay bigla kong naalala trivia lang ito ewan ko naman kung totoo at nahagip ko lang (tsika) alam n’yo ba na ang UnMarry daw ay hindi naman unang inialok kay Zanjoe at kay Angelica,” the talent-manager vlogger said.
Ogie’s co-hosts Mama Loi and Mrena were both surprised with what he said. “Ang nakarating sa akin unang inialok ang UnMarry kina Piolo Pascual at Judy Ann Santos,” he shared.
However, one of them turned down the project. Ogie chose not to name who said, “no.” “Ang sabi sa akin siyempre tumanggi na ‘yung isa, hindi na rin babagay ‘yung isa. Ayaw ko nang magsabi kung sino ‘yung tumanggi. Kasi comeback sana nila (Juday at Piolo) nila ito, eh,” the talent manager-vlogger said.
Then, Ogie said that it is no longer important who the first choices are, and what is more vital is the last choice. For him, Angelica and Zanjoe were able to do a good performance for their respective roles.
The talent manager-vlogger was still hopeful that the right time would come for the reunion project of Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos to happen. Their last project together was in 2006 for the series Sa Piling Mo. In the same year, they also did the movie Don’t Give Up On Us.
