Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban have a new movie
Kapamilya actor Zanjoe Marudo talked about his friendship with actress Angelica Panganiban.
Both Zanjoe and Angelica have been in the entertainment industry for many years already. They already had projects together in the past. Their first movie together was One More Try in 2012, featuring Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and A-list actress Angel Locsin.
They also worked together for quite a long time in the defunct Kapamilya gag show Banana Split. In a recent interview for their Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 entry UnMarry, they said that they are “best friends for life.”
Zanjoe Marudo said that he and Angelika Panganiban went through a lot in showbiz, and this time, their new project is different because it is the comeback movie of the actress, based on the article in PEP.
“And then, ngayon lang ulit kami magkakatrabaho after Playhouse (2018). Before pandemic nangyari,” he said.
Zanjoe also said that he felt excitement for his new movie because they worked with the same people behind the camera. “Siguro ang difference ngayon mas naintindihan na talaga namin kung ano yung mga emotions ng isang bilang isang magulang,” he enthused.
The actor further said that before, they portrayed characters who were parents without the knowledge what it is like to be parents in real life. He said that right now, it is easier for them to do scenes like this, and they learned the proper emotions because they already experienced being parents.
Zanjoe Marudo also shared that when they were doing Playhouse, that was the time when he and Angelica Panganiban really got close. However, this did not reach the romantic stage.
He said that they like each other as a person, and they are comfortable with each other’s company. When it comes to portraying their roles, the actor said that they have no inhibitions. He added that when they both had their respective families, their communication never stopped.
