Comedian Kuhol, Doughlas Arthur Supnet in real life, passed away this Monday, December 22, 2025.

In the Philippine entertainment industry, many comedians rose to fame during the 1990s and early 2000s because of their unique abilities to make people laugh.

Back then, comedy movies were so popular with their signature humor in that era of Philippine films. One of those comedians who made many appearances on TV and movies was Doughlas. He was known for his sidekick roles in films and television.

He was nicknamed “Kuhol” because of his thick lips and charming smile. Douglas first became known in the ’80s TV show Mongolian Barbecue, where he played the sidekick of Mr. Shooli, the character made famous by Jun Urbano.

Among his popular movies were Juan Tamad at Mr. Shooli: Mongolian Barbecue (1991), Juan & Ted: Wanted (2000), Matalino Man Ang Matsing Naiisahan Din (2000), Daddy O, Baby O (2000), and Walang Iwanan… Peksman! (2002).

In that era, many showbiz personalities had already bid goodbye. Based on the report from PEP, Kuhol died due to high-risk pneumonia and complications from hypothyroidism.

The sad news was confirmed by his sister, Carol Supnet, through a Facebook post, where she shared details of the famous comedian’s funeral.

“Share your laughter in heaven, Manong Philip…We will miss you our ‘little-big’ brother… We love you… May you rest in peace, Amen,” Carol wrote.

Kuhol’s remains were placed at the Ascension of Our Lord Parish in Quezon City from December 23 to 26.
