Actress-model Herlene Budol admits she was embarrassed after Bea Borres rejected her when she volunteered to be the baby’s “Ninang.”
Bea Borres and Herlene Budol have appeared in a vlog of Alex Gonzaga, and in this video, Herlene volunteered to be a ninang to Bea’s baby girl and was later rejected. The content creator was shocked when a lot of people made a big deal out of it, stirring issues and controversies.
She explained that during the early months of her pregnancy, she already completed her list of “ninongs and ninangs” for her baby. It was already filled as early as her first trimester, but still she loves Herlene.
The Kapuso star reacted, and according to her, she didn’t take it personally when she was rejected as a “ninang.” In an interview with Boy Abunda on his program, the same topic was discussed, and Herlene explained her side of it.
According to her, she volunteered because she saw Borres as a sister to her and felt the need to provide her with an extra layer of protection. She was sincere and genuine in her intentions when she volunteered. She was just concerned.
However, at that moment, she admitted that she was taken aback and felt a sense of embarrassment that really lingered. She added, “Puno na raw ang listahan n’ya. Ako naman eh naapektuhan lang ako noong nagkukuwentuhan kami na parang gusto kong mag-ninang hindi dahil sobrang close namin.”
Despite being embarrassed, she was not mad. She was not deeply hurt and decided not to dwell on it; however, the constant tagging sent her a realization. She learned that when it comes to matters like this, she should not volunteer herself.
Budol shared, “Actually hindi ko nga siya naisip eh. Hanggang sa paulit-ulit na lang may nagta-tag sa akin, dapat hindi ka pala nagbo-volunteer kapag mga gano’ng klase ng bagay.”
