Bondi Beach Shooting Suspects Traveled From Philippines? DFA Says No Filipino Victims

Do the suspects in the Bondi Beach shooting travel from the Philippines before committing the incident?

BONDI BEACH SHOOTING – The father and son duo of the incident allegedly came from the Philippines before flying to Australia.

Did the suspects stay in the Philippines before traveling there, claiming to their families they were going on a fishing trip? Did they stay in the country before holing up in a short-term rental home in Campsie before doing the shooting?

Based on the reports, 15 lives were claimed after two men opened fire at the Hanukkah event on Bondi Beach in Sydney. The victims included a 10-year-old girl, and the gunmen were identified by police as a father and son. The older suspect has died after being shot, and the younger one is in a critical condition in the hospital.

Based on the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), no Filipino casualties have been confirmed. The agency coordinated with the Australian communities to verify this, and as of this time, “there are no confirmed Filipino casualties.”

There are around 86,000 Filipinos residing in Sydney, one of the largest migrant communities in the city.

“The Department extends its sympathies to the victims and their families and urges Filipinos in Sydney to remain vigilant, avoid affected areas, and follow the advisories of local authorities,” the agency added.

The event targeted by the two gunmen had gathered more than 1,000 people on the beach to mark the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. The youngest victim was a 10-year-old girl, and the oldest was 87.

There were several other victims hospitalized, including two officers.

Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese promised to strengthen gun laws following a shooting that targeted the country’s Jewish community during a Hanukkah event at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
