Ruffa Gutierrez Shares Uplifting Update on Eddie Gutierrez After Spine Procedure
EDDIE GUTIERREZ – Actress Ruffa Gutierrez brought relief to fans after sharing a hopeful update on her father Eddie Gutierrez’s health following a recent spinal procedure in Singapore.
Actress Ruffa Gutierrez shared an encouraging update about her father, veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez, following a recent medical procedure he underwent in Singapore. According to Ruffa, Eddie is now in stable condition and is responding well to treatment after having a spinal procedure, bringing relief to their family and supporters.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Ruffa revealed that she personally accompanied her father to Singapore for his medical care. What was initially a trip focused on Eddie’s health also turned into an opportunity for Ruffa and her mother, Annabelle Rama, to prioritize their own well-being. Both mother and daughter became new patients of renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Prem Pillay, who is overseeing Eddie’s recovery.
Photos shared online showed Ruffa undergoing an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), similar to the tests done on her father. Meanwhile, Annabelle was given lifestyle advice by the doctor, including regular exercise and reducing her intake of lechon, a favorite Filipino dish.
Ruffa expressed deep gratitude to those who have been praying and sending messages of support for her father. “To everyone who has sent comforting messages and included Dad in your prayers, a heartfelt thank you!” she said. She also reassured followers about Eddie’s condition, adding, “Dad is already showing signs of improvement after yesterday’s spine procedure, and the antibiotics are helping. Thank You, Lord!”
The Gutierrez family is currently awaiting additional test results from Eddie’s urologist, Dr. Sam Peh. Ruffa shared that they are hopeful the results will allow their family to reunite in Manila in time for Christmas.
Adding a light and hopeful note, Ruffa also relayed a smiling assurance from Dr. Pillay that he and his medical team would do their best to ensure Eddie lives to at least 100 years old.
Ruffa concluded her post with a meaningful message for everyone: “A gentle reminder for everyone: Health is wealth. Let’s take good care of ourselves and most importantly, let’s spend time with our parents because it’s our turn to take care of them.”

Eddie Gutierrez has faced health challenges in recent years. In 2021, he underwent a procedure that cleared him of prostate cancer, and two years later, he successfully had cataract surgery.
