Mario Búcaro is no longer the CEO of the Miss Universe Organization.
Shortly after becoming the chief executive officer of the Miss Universe Organization, Mario Búcaro leaves the post amid the buzz.
Thai business mogul Anne Jakrajutatip has held the chief executive officer post since 2022, but after controversies struck her, she resigned, and Mario Bucaro was appointed as her replacement in the top position of the organization. Jakrajutatip resigned after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand issued a complaint against her.
The change in leadership followed the restructuring of the Board of Directors at JKN Global Group. JKN Global Group co-owns MUO along with Legacy Holdings Group of Raul Rocha, the president of the pageant organization.
The international pageant organization announced this through its website in October; however, over a month after this announcement, the new CEO also stepped down, ending his short stint.
In a press release, MUO said that Búcaro has played a crucial part in carrying out key operational leadership responsibilities in the production of the recent Miss Universe competition.
This has contributed to “the coordination of local and international teams, the strengthening of strategic alliances, and the creation of effective channels of dialogue among cultures, sponsors, institutional partners, media outlets, and a global community committed to the empowerment of women.”
In his statement, Búcaro said that people who know and have worked with him can attest that he has always upheld high ethical standards and aimed to leave a positive impact in every role and collaboration he has taken on.
He stated, “I have sought to leave a positive legacy with every person with whom I have collaborated.”
Despite his short time with the organization, he had a meaningful learning experience. It allowed him to work closely with remarkable women, dedicated professionals, and a global community deeply committed to the empowerment of women.
The MUO has thanked Bucaro for his service and professionalism. The organization also confirmed that the transition process is ongoing and the formal announcement of his replacement will be made soon.
