Sunshine Garcia is not bothered by the negative comments
S=xbomb member Sunshine Garcia reacted to her body shamers after the reunion concert of the 90s all-girl group.
Sunshine became part of one of the most iconic pop groups in the Philippine entertainment industry. From being known as back-up dancers in the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga, they were given a chance to have their own afternoon series, which ran for several seasons.
Eventually, they released songs and albums. When they disbanded, their group was not forgotten, and some members continued their showbiz careers while some ventured into other fields.
Just recently, the most-awaited S=xbomb reunion took place. This made their fans so happy. The members, led by their leader, Rochelle Pangilinan, proved that they still have it.
Fans enjoyed their performances of the songs and dances they popularized. However, negativity was still there. Sunshine Garcia received negative comments, and she was aware of this.
In a social media post, the dancer-actress answered the body-shaming comments she received as she gained weight after giving birth to her child with her husband, Alex Castro.
Sunshine posted, “In my chubby era.” She said that there were many years when she still had a fitter figure, but the reunion did not happen, and was just pushed through now.
The dancer-actress said that there were people who understood her condition, while there were some who commented, “ANG TABA MO,” and “ANG BIGAT NI SHINE.”
She shared that her husband asked her if she was affected by the body-shaming comments. Sunshine just laughed and said “hindi.” The first reason is that when she would check the basher’s profile, she would just have a “no comment” reaction.
Her second reason was that a year had not passed since she gave birth, and she knows for a fact that she eventually will be able to shed some extra weight.
“AT GUYS NGAYON LANG AKO NASASABIHAN NA CUTE HAYAAN NYONG CHERISH KO MUNA ITO HAHAHA dahil pagnagpapayat ulit ako pahirapan ng katawan,” Sunshine Garcia added.
