Miss Grand International All Stars Opens Doors to Transgender Beauty Queens

MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL – Pageant fans worldwide erupted in excitement after Miss Grand International revealed that the highly anticipated All Stars edition is now officially open to transgender contestants.

Miss Grand International (MGI) has revealed a groundbreaking update for the debut edition of its Miss Grand International All Stars event, announcing that transgender women are now eligible to participate. The announcement, posted on MGI’s social media accounts on Saturday, December 6, sparked widespread excitement among pageant supporters worldwide.

In the post, the organization outlined the eligibility criteria for those interested in joining the competition. According to MGI, “A global stage awaits women and trans women who have competed in any international pageant but have yet to claim the crown. Open to ages 20–40, regardless of marital status or motherhood.” The first All Stars competition is set to take place in Thailand from January 25, 2026, until February 13, 2026. The winner will receive the prestigious “All Stars Crown” and a grand cash reward of $100,000 to $1 million.

The announcement quickly drew strong and positive reactions online, with many fans calling it a milestone in the world of beauty pageants. Enthusiasts shared their eagerness to see former candidates return to the stage, quoting remarks such as “who once stood on an international stage…moment to return” and “dapat may international pageant nang nasalihan…All star.” Others conveyed their thrill over the upcoming competition, with one supporter declaring, “This is going to be blood bath war who are we going to see fighting. MGI president Nawat Itsaragrisil was also praised for the initiative. Supporters commended him with enthusiastic messages like “Papa Nawat, this will be going extravagant. The Philippines has remained a top performer in MGI, with Emma Mary Tiglao securing the Miss Grand International 2025 crown, following Christine Juliane Opiaza’s win in 2024.

The participation of transgender women in global pageants has been evolving. One significant milestone was reached when Spain sent Angela Ponce to Miss Universe 2018, making her the first transgender woman to ever compete on the Miss Universe stage, an edition ultimately won by the Philippines’ Catriona Gray.
