Kiko Barzaga accepted his suspension
Cavite Fourth District Congressman Kiko Barzaga was suspended for 60 days because of his “offensive social media posts.
The lawmaker has been a trending topic online several times because of what he has been sharing on his Facebook page. He shared posts criticizing the administration and the leadership of President Bongbong Marcos.
One of the most recent controversial posts that he shared against PBBM was the allegation that the chief executive of the Philippines accused the religious group INC of paying their members to attend the anti-corruption rally.

On Monday, December 1, 2025, the House of Representatives suspended Cong. Kiko Barzaga, without pay, based on the article in PEP. Barzaga was found guilty of disorderly conduct on his social media posts. He was also ordered to delete these posts within 24 hours.
Barzaga was accused of violating the Code of Conduct for his Facebook posts that were allegedly inappropriate and disrespectful to government officials. Allegedly, he also encouraged the burning of the House of Representatives by telling the public not to burn the House until the documents and employees are removed.
“His actions reflected negatively upon the dignity, integrity, and reputation of the House of Representatives as an institution of the members of the House individually and collectively,” 4P’s Party-list Representative JC Abalos, chairman of the Committee on Ethics and Privileges, said.
Abalos also said, “Consequently, the committee finds respondent, Rep. Kiko Barzaga of the 4th district of Cavite guilty of disorderly behavior by violating Sec. 141 (a) Rule 20 of the Rules of House of Representatives, 4(c) of RA 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.”
He added that they will impose a harsher punishment on Barzaga if he repeats the mistake he made.
Even though Cong. Kiko Barzaga accepted his punishment; he maintained that PBBM must be held accountable for his alleged crimes.

“Too many people have died, and too much money was plundered from the Filipino people for us to stand down now,” Barzaga said. He also promised to continue to fight against corruption even in the face of imprisonment and death.
Barzaga also had a message to the ethics committee. He pointed out that the committee remarked that his statements against the President were unethical, but there was no remark that what he said wasn’t true. The congressman added that PBBM will experience a repeat of history, just like other “dictators” who came before him.
“When you steal and kill the people that you are constitutionally mandated to serve, then you will face the retribution of both God and Country!” the suspended lawmaker said.
