Senator Lito Lapid Urges PSU Students to Work Hard in Their Studies

Senator Lito Lapid encouraged the students of Pampanga State University to stay focused on their studies and work hard.

The lawmaker reminded them that education is one of the strongest tools they can use to build a better future for themselves and their families. He also urged them to persevere to overcome life’s challenges.

During his visit, Senator Lapid shared a personal story that many young people could relate to. He opened up about how he once dreamed of finishing his studies, but life did not allow him to do so.

Growing up as the son of a laundry worker and a stuntman, he faced financial struggles that kept him from pursuing college. He recalled times when he had no money for meals or transportation, which led to him completing only high school.

These experiences, he said, shaped his understanding of how important education is and how difficult it can be for students who come from humble backgrounds.

Lapid delivered his message as he led the distribution of multidisciplinary books and learning materials to PSU students on Wednesday, November 26. This initiative aimed to help support the academic growth of thousands of young learners in the university.

The senator expressed hope that the books provided by Senate officials would give students additional resources to enhance their knowledge and inspire them to continue striving for their goals.

Lapid also emphasizes the development of Pampanga State University itself. As the author of the measure that converted the former Don Honorio Ventura State University into what is now PSU, Lapid said he is proud to see the institution serving more students and offering broader opportunities.

Currently, Pampanga State University has around 40,000 students, each with their own dreams and struggles.
