Seasoned actor Richard Gomez shared this career advice with young actor Elijah Canlas to achieve longevity in the entertainment industry.
Richard has been in showbiz for many years already. He took a break from doing showbiz stints when he focused on his career in politics. Just recently, he had his showbiz comeback through the movie Salvageland. Last October, in an interview, Richard got emotional talking about his showbiz comeback.
Through this film, the 90s matinee idol was able to work with Elijah Canlas. In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Richard shared that he is proud of the movie directed by Lino Cayetano.
Richard Gomez said that this film was so well-thought-out and the acting was so well. He is sure that moviegoers will enjoy i,t and this will make them think.
Regarding the movie theme, Elijah said that it showed bravery.
“Matapang yung pagkakakuwento, yung mga messaging and yung story, and yung tema ng tinatackle namin dito, hindi normal na tinatackle sa Philippine cinema,” the award-winning young actor said.
Richard shared that he and Elijah play the roles of policemen, father and son in the movie. Their characters are against lawlessness, criminals, and corruption.
Elijah added that his character is the optimistic one, while Richard’s character is the jaded policeman. He also said that the moviegoers will witness 2 kinds of policemen, which is the common scenario nowadays.
Elijah Canlas also shared that he received good advice from Richard Gomez to stay relevant in the entertainment industry.
“Young guy, malayo ang aabutin nito. What I want to tell you is, pagbutihin mo to nang mabuti, mahalin mo ‘tong trabaho natin, it will take you far, far away,” he shared.
