Arjo Atayde is ready to face the accusation against him
Quezon City First District Representative Arjo Atayde is set to face the members of Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Tuesday November 25, 2025.
The actor-politician was dragged into the issue of the anomalous flood control projects. He was accused of receiving kickbacks. Cong. Arjo directly denied the accusation against him.
After this, netizens dug into the issue about the congressman. He was accused of corruption and bashed for his frequent travels abroad with his wife Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza.
Arjo Atayde was also accused of being a “trapo” or a traditional politician. It is because netizens have shared photos of items with his photo and name being given to his constituents, like the water container and bottled water.
Based on the article in PEP, the congressman is set to face the ICI members. However, the hearing would not be aired because the actor-politician asked for an executive session.
It means, he will just have a private meeting or discussion with the ICI members regarding the controvercial issue. Because of this, it was said that people who follows the ICI investigation were dismayed for they will not know Arjo’s defense.
To recall, last September 8, 2025, Curlee and Sarah Discaya accused Arjo Atayde of receiving kickbacks. After the actor-politician denied his connection with them, his photo with the contractor couple circulated on social media. The Discaya couple’s company was named as one of the alleged companies involved in anomalous flood control projects.
“Actually po, yung tulong na tinext ko sila at chinat, yun po ang halaga ng dapat isauli nila sa amin, yung balanse pa po. For sample po, yung katulad kay Cong. Arjo Atayde po, bale PHP60 million po ang sinabi ko sa chat ko,” Curlee Discaya said during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee inquiry back in September.
