Joshua Garcia had a much-talked-about breakup
Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia admitted that in his past breakup, he did not have the needed time to process it.
Joshua found success in showbiz after joining the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother, which has opened opportunities for him. He was the better half of one of the most successful loveteams in the Philippines. Joshua’s past reel and real-life partnership with actress Julia Barretto brought good things to their careers and personal lives.
However, after years of being together, they broke up, and this saddened the JoshLia fans. Fortunately, there was no animosity between Joshua and Julia. They remained friends and had the chance to work together for the music video of the song Paubaya by Moira dela Torre. Then, they had their reunion movie in 2024 titled Unhappy For You.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Balita, Joshua Garcia shared about his past breakup. He was asked if there was a point in his life when he could not simply comprehend or grasp the situation he was in. He said that it was during the pandemic.
“Parang mas marami akong nangyaring nag-reflect ako sa buhay ko no’ng pandemic. […] Kasi you have more time to rest, e. Kasi paglabas ko ng Bahay [ni Kuya] parang dire-diretso ‘yong mga pangyayari. Walang stop.” the actor said.
Before the pandemic happened, Joshua and Julia separated. They announced their breakup in 2019, and the following year, the pandemic took place.

“Kahit ‘yong breakup ko wala na akong time to process. Lahat naproseso ko noong pandemic. And that was a time din na I realized na I should protect kung ano ‘yong mga nakakamit ko,” Joshua Garcia shared.
On the other hand, he stressed that he and Julia treated each other well even after the breakup. This was probably the reason why there was no issue between them when they had the chance to work together again.
Meanwhile, Joshua Garcia is currently promoting his new movie Meet, Greet, & Bye with the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, and Kapamilya stars Piolo Pascual, Belle Mariano, and JK Labajo.
