Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray shared these about the pageant’s result.
In a series of messages, beauty queen Catriona Gray called for transparency in Miss Universe judging following the recent results.
Fatima Bosch of Mexico is the crowned Miss Universe 2025, but this win is clouded and filled with controversy. Even before the coronation, there were already issues, which reflected deeper problems within the organisation, such political interests, internal power struggles, and competing agendas.
“Wala na bang bearing ng q&a sa MU?” asked Catriona Gray in a previous article. This was a question that seemed to echo the questions of many lingering online, as it was on the surface, who gave a solid and realistic answer, while others chose to speak like a motivational speaker.
Gray can’t speak for the judges, as every judge has their respective preference when it comes to winners – different judges value different attributes. This was something she had proven after judging several competitions. As she stressed that her views are strictly personal, she noted that she never served as a judge for Miss Universe and has no access to the organization’s official scoring process.
She also stressed a broader concern in the pageant, which is the lack of transparent judging criteria in Miss Universe. She hoped that the organization would consider presenting clearer standards, ideally featuring a third-party tabulator and a formal scoring release to regain fan trust.
This aspect has created doubts from viewers and even judges themselves, resulting in disappointment, as they have truly invested immense effort and sacrifice.
For the winner, she hopes to see her positively using her platform as Miss Universe. Closing off her train of messages, she reminded the people to maintain respect within the pageant community and support the representatives.
